Brake Tests
Brake testing
Brakes are one of the most important mechanisms of a HGV or any vehicle. As such they should be checked regularly to ensure road safety.
How is a brake test carried out?
The vehicle is driven onto the brake tester which has weighing cells on each side. A safety roller detects if a vehicle is present and if there is any slipping of the tyres. Once the information has been processed the rollers are switched on and will go at an approved speed. The brakes are then applied by the operator and measurements are recorded.
Reading the results:
It is important to read the results of your brake test, even if you have passed. Just because the test has been passed, there may still be action needed.
The DVSA have more information on how to read your report:

After the test:
If your vehicle fails or has any faults which need to be rectified our mechanics at C&B Trucks will fix any issues before you leave with your vehicle.
