Lorry cleaning tips (interior)
Tips on cleaning the inside of a lorry
Driving around can be hard work – the late nights, the takeaways and keeping yourself entertained when on a break or when delayed. As a result of this HGV drivers must prepare for every situation which means carrying a range of items. This can cause clutter and can dirty the inside of your HGV. To help with organising your lorry and keeping it as clean as possible (when possible!) here are some quick tips/suggestions that may help:
- Milk Crate – use a milk crate or a box with compartments to store cloths, windshield washer fluid, multi surface spray, small dust brush and more. This will keep all cleaning products in one space.
- Bin – Make sure you keep a bin bag handy to store all your rubbish i.e food containers and dump the bin after each working day to reduce smells and mess.
- Spare shoes – keep a pair of spare shoes in your HGV so you reduce spread of stones, sand and dirt from where you sleep.
- Inside windows – Clean the inside of your windows regularly, as well as the outside, to ensure good visibility. We recommend using our product “Sparkle glass and mirror cleaner” – just ask in store for details or to purchase one or visit the link below:

- Small wet/dry vacuum – this will be helpful to keep your HGV clean as it will vacuum any unwanted dirt and dust. This can be completed each evening so your vehicle is fresh the next morning.
- Multi-surface cleaner – Wipe down your steering wheel, dashboard, door handles etc with multi surface cleaner and a cloth to ensure cleanliness and a fresh smell. We recommend using “Interservices UK Multi-purpose cleaner” which can be bought in store.
